Latin America is one of many regions where environmental problems play a big role. One particular region in Latin America that is experiencing these problems is Brazil.  The Amazon rainforest is one of the largest forests in the world and today is being threatened by deforestation. Deforestation has being around since decades and this is due to cattle ranching and exploitation of cutting down trees. 20 percent of the Amazon is gone, that’s the same size as Europe.  Last month September 23, 2014 the UN help a conference in which 120 leaders around the world attend to solve climate change. These entire leaders took a pledge to end deforestation by 2030 but unfortunately Brazil the county that has the largest rainforest refuse to take the pledge. It is important to save the rainforest because it provides a   home for plants, animals, and people.  What would the world be if we didn’t have animals? In addition this forest provides most the oxygen to the world and future medicine comes from plant in the Amazon One NGO that is doing a great contribution to help the world is the Greenpeace organization they focus on a peaceful protest against global issues around the world and promoting a solution for these problems. One of their resent projects is helping deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest  a home for many living things has lost huge amount of forest like the size of Californian. The Greenpeace organization came up with the ‘Zero’ proposal campaign to help stop deforestation in the Amazon by 2015.
